You may have seen the Ampera Desk Bike in your inbox, on your fitness blog, or on Kickstarter, but you won't have to wait any longer. The Ampera Bike is now available for purchase from the LifeSpan store! You can purchase the bike on its own or as a bike desk combo, which comes with a LifeSpan standing desk paired with either the Glacier White or Space Grey Ampera Bike.
If you haven't heard of the Ampera Bike, here's a quick refresher. The Ampera Bike is a $999 under-desk bike that can charge your devices. Its 65W power output can charge PD-charging compatible phones just as quickly as any wall outlet or portable charger, and it's even equipped with a wireless charging pad — the max output of the charging pad is 15W. In addition to being able to charge, the Ampera Bike features Bluetooth compatibility with the LifeSpan Fit app, an all-day comfort seat, low-noise operation, and an eco-friendly design.
The Ampera Bike is a taste of what is to come from us. LifeSpan's product design is heading in a new, more exciting direction. Next-gen hardware will feature more smart features, additional app functionality, and eco-friendly manufacturing processes.
Ampera Bike Is Only the Beginning
The Ampera Bike was our first attempt at what we believe is the future of active workstations: independently powered fitness machines that blend in with a modern office environment. Some of the design elements we relied on were monochrome color patterns, angular structures with rounded edges, advanced app integration, and quiet operation. Our belief is that a workstation that performs well, makes little noise, looks incredible, and offers value beyond fitness is the future.
The Ampera Bike is such a success that we are expanding the Ampera line. We are currently working on an Ampera Treadmill, which will feature a similar design to the Ampera Bike but on a larger scale, including recyclable, lightweight materials, charging capability, and smart app integrations. While we're not ready to fully unveil the treadmill or any future Ampera products just yet, we can't wait to show what we've been working on.
Cycling Toward a Greener Future
One of the new initiatives we've implemented with the Ampera line is the use of eco-friendly materials. The Ampera Bike, for example, is made up of 30% recycled HIPS pellets, which require less energy to produce than traditional plastic. Future products in the Ampera line will also be made from recycled materials.
We have also partnered with Greenspark, a company that offsets the carbon footprint of individuals and organizations, to minimize our carbon footprint. Greenspark will plant a tree for every $300 of revenue we generate. With this partnership, our goal is to make a positive impact on the environment and offer our customers a way to participate in our environmentally friendly agenda.
